The Gardener Series is a 12 piece series that focused on mending a dark period, seeing the beauty, but clearing the space to heal. It was a reflection of me, staring out my window, and seeing my dad work on his garden every single day. The first 6 was created in Barrio Logan, and the last 6 was created In my family home in Paradise Hills / National City. I didn’t make the connection that I was painting to clear emotional weeds, to heal from such dark times, similar to how my dad would pull weeds and take of his plants, until I finished the series.
